AS Roma will play Beatles hits before the Champions League soccer match against Liverpool tomorrow morning (NZ time) as a tribute to George Harrison, who died last week, La Gazzetta dello Sport reported.
The sports daily yesterday said the Beatles songs would be played by loud speakers at the Olympic Stadium in the warm-up before the game. It also said Roma was considering showing clips of the Liverpool Fab Four on the two giant screens inside the stadium.
Harrison, the Beatles guitarist, died last week of cancer at the age of 58. La Gazzetta said Roma's decision was aimed at easing tension between the rival fans, who clashed last year when the clubs met in a Uefa Cup match.
