The New Zealand Rugby League has reported an audited surplus of $505,000 for the 15 months to March 31.
Chairman Scott Carter said the result was particularly satisfying given the ongoing growth and development of the game.
Having changed its financial year end from December to March, these accounts cover the period from January 1, 2011 to March 31, 2012.
The result features consolidated revenues of $7.1 million, up from $5.91m in 2010. Expenses rose to $6.6m compared to $5.59m in 2011.
Chief executive Jim Doyle said the financial result rounded off another successful year for the NZRL but said due to limited international fixtures over the next two years the NZRL's income will be reduced. The Kiwis will defend their title at next year's rugby league World Cup in England, Wales, France and Ireland.
