New Zealand rider Josh Coppins has slipped to fifth in the standings after the fourth round of the world MX1 championships in the Netherlands on the weekend.
Coppins, who started the weekend in fourth on 85 points, finished 10th in the first heat and fifth in the second to come away with a total of 27 points from the Valkenswaard track.
Italy's Antonio Cairoli leads the championship on 143 points.
"It was disappointing for me. I was not able to push hard because I am not physically at 100 per cent and still need to reach my full potential," Coppins said.
"I had to just ride for points rather than being able to race hard for a win. That disappoints me.
"In the coming weeks, I hope to get myself back to 100 per cent again and then I know I can do the whole team justice," added Coppins.
The Motueka rider will contest the opening round of the Belgian MX1 championship on Friday before heading to Portugal the following week for the fifth round of the world championship.
