KEY POINTS:
SYDNEY - Kiwis star Sonny Bill Williams says he will be taking "drastic measures" after a string of alcohol-related off-field incidents.
Bulldogs NRL player Williams, 21, said he would get professional help to deal with his drinking and would, in the meantime, abstain from alcohol.
"I know the bad publicity I've had has all been alcohol-related," he read from a statement yesterday.
"I'll be seeking professional help with regards to alcohol and, until the club and myself feel this is under control, I'll be off the drink."
Williams was fined A$650 ($730) when police caught him urinating in public at Cronulla last weekend. The latest of three incidents involving the player. The Dogs have not announced any sanction against Williams.
Ben Roberts, another Kiwis and Bulldogs player, was charged with drink-driving at the weekend.
The Bulldogs have lost four of their last five matches.
