Formula 4 racer Sophia Floersch has been fined €5000 (NZ$7800) after she shared a video of her narrowly avoiding a collision with a recovery vehicle during practice at Oschersleben without permission yesterday.
The German teenager uploaded a video to her social media accounts showing onboard footage of her just managingto avoid a road vehicle entering the track from the right hand side.
Floersch had failed to slow down during the lap despite red flags being displayed by officials.
The red flags can be seen to the right of the frame in the video, shortly before she meets the SUV and swerves off the track to safety.
Floersch's publication of the footage without the permission of the series' management was a violation of the Formula 4 rules, resulting in a hefty fine for the 16-year-old.
Despite Floersch tweeting that her fine was €20,000 (NZ$31,315), Allgemeiner Deutscher Automobil-Club e.V. - simply known as ADAC - confirmed the fine was just €5000.
I got an fine of 20000 Euro from DMSB, because i posted that video without permission if ADAC.
