Motorsport: China race stopped

The planned V8 Supercar race in China has been postponed until June next year.

V8 Supercar boss Tony Cochrane says logistical problems, concerns over the weather in Shanghai on the original November date and a change of promoters led to the postponement.

No decision has been made on how to replace the China round for this year's championship.

Cochrane says three places could host the vacant round - Victoria's Phillip Island, another Australian venue or a second race in New Zealand.

He said a decision would be made within a month.
