It's understood Sonny Bill Williams is on the verge of signing a five year deal to return to the NRL with the Sydney Roosters.

The Sunday Telegraph is reporting that a deal worth $5.3million has all but been finalised.

He'll join the Roosters in 2013 on just over $1 million a season, which is exactly double what he was on when he walked out on the Bulldogs in 2008.
