Masters champion Sergio Garcia's given himself something to smile about after an otherwise disappointing opening round at the Players Championship.
Garcia has aced the iconic par-3 Island Green 17th hole to become the eighth to do so in tournament history.
he revealed afterwards that it is the 12th ace of
his career, the fifth in competition.
The Spaniard carded a one-under 73, to be tied for 68th.
Garcia is six shots off the pace set by leaders Mackenzie Hughes and William McGirt.
