Golf: Flawless Geary leads field

Josh Geary shot a superb six-under 66 yesterday to take a two-shot lead after the first round of the Brian Perry Classic pro-am golf tournament in Waikato.

Michael Hendry and Troy Ropiha are joint second on 68, with Andrew Green and Andrew Searle another shot back.

Geary was flawless on the front nine to make the turn at five-under and snared two more birdies on the 10th and 12th holes before striking his only bogey on the 17th.
