An Argentine referee was chased out of the stadium by players and forced to scale a fence during a match between two fifth division sides last week.
The referee was forced to flee after he was surrounded by both players and coaching staff who all began beat him.
The bizarreincident captured on video (see below) happened in a match between Union San Guillermo and Atletico Tostado after the referee stopped play following a foul and seemingly carded the wrong player.
As he got a card out of his pocket the Atletico Tostado player charged the referee and threw a punch before his teammate joined in with more punches and kicks.
As the referee's assistants arrived on the scene to defend him, coaching staff also ran onto the pitch to attack the referee.
Clearly outnumbered the referee tried to defend himself with a linesman's flag before running off the pitch.
But the players still weren't finished and continued to chase the referee where he is last seen in the video climbing over a fence and possibly to safety.
