Soccer: Kiwis drafted to MLS

Two up and coming New Zealand footballers have earned professional contracts in the MLS.

Defender Michael Boxall will play his football with the Vancouver Whitecaps this year after being selected as the number one pick in the supplemental draft.

Midfielder Dan Keat has been drafted third and will join the LA Galaxy, home of former England captain David Beckham.

Both Boxall and Keat are former national age-group teammates.
