A number of the country's top yachties will line up in a 24-hour race on Takapuna's Lake Pupuke this weekend.
Organised by the Campbells Bay Yacht Club, 40 teams of two will sail a laser for 24 hours from 2pm today.
Among those competing are defending champions Aucklanders Andrew Murdochand Matt Blakie.
Present New Zealand laser champion Michael Bullot teams up with Australian No 1 Tom Slingsby and world laser youth champ Blair McLay.
Yachting New Zealand Olympic squad member Jo Aleh will compete with Sara Winther.
Two crews from Korea and one each from Turkey, Argentina and Noumea will also participate.
A legends team,including Emirates Team New Zealand skipper Dean Barker, double Olympic gold medallist Ben Ainslie, Finn sailor Dan Slater and former cup sailor Peter Lester, will also take part.
