CHITTAGONG - Sachin Tendulkar hit his 36th test century and Saurav Ganguly also smashed a hundred as India reached 384-6 on a rain-hit first test against Bangladesh on Saturday (local time).
Just 20 overs were possible on the second day, India having resumed on 295-3.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni(36) and Anil Kumble (1) were not out at the close.
Ganguly and Tendulkar added 189 for the fourth wicket before the former India captain was dismissed for 100.
Ganguly brought up his ton by taking a scrappy single but just two balls later he was caught at short mid off by Mohammad Rafique off Mashrafe Mortaza. The 34-year-old's knock included 13 fours and two sixes.
After batting patiently to reach his century with a single to mid-on, Tendulkar was next man out for 101. Attempting a pull shot, he was caught in the covers by Mohammad Ashraful to hand Shahadat Hossain his second wicket.
"It is really good to get a century after a long time ... After South Africa I have not played test cricket for a long time. The century has come at the right time," Tendulkar told reporters.
He said India planned score 450 in the first innings. "We enjoyed our innings. We had fun in the middle. The idea was that the mind does get bogged down."
