Peter Fulton is oozing confidence ahead of his test debut for the Black Caps.
Fulton is set to bat at number three for New Zealand in the first test against West Indies starting in Auckland on Thursday, having occupied the spot for Canterbury for the past few years.
Fellow rookieJamie How will open with Hamish Marshall, with skipper Stephen Fleming at four.
Fulton said he is looking forward to taking on the West Indian bowlers, having already had crack at them in the one dayers, and while it will be a different challenge in the test arena, it is good to have seen them in action already.
He said it has been great to get a taste of international cricket in the one-day series, but test cricket is the ultimate.
The playing eleven will not be named until Thursday, but Fulton said it will be a dream come true if he does get the nod.
The West Indies and the Black Caps train again today on Eden Park, with batting maestro Brian Lara hosting a media conference this afternoon.
