The stars and the quieter achievers of the sporting world alike step it up for the challenge of the Commonwealth Games. Suzanne McFadden meets six of our top athletes heading to Glasgow.
If you haven't had a big enough dose of sport this month with the All Blacks vs England, and the Fifa World Cup, you surely will have in a few weeks. Yes, the countdown is on to the Commonwealth Games. New Zealand has more than 230 athletes heading to Glasgow
and there are high hopes for a swag of gold medals.
This week, we have a beautiful series of images by Herald photographer Greg Bowker, who spent time with six of our athletes-including Silver Fern Cathrine Latu and parasport swimmer Sophie Pascoe during their training in the lead-up to the games. Writer Suzanne McFadden found out what motivates them, and their passions outside of sport.
