Boxing: Trinidad outslugs Cherifi

Puerto Rican boxer Felix Trinidad made a victorious return to the ring in San Juan yesterday, stopping France's Hacind Cherifi in the fourth round of their scheduled 10-round middleweight bout.

Trinidad's precision was too much for the Frenchman, who first went to the canvas when Trinidad caught him with a short right 30s from the end of the third round. A stinging left had him down again in the fourth, with the referee calling a halt after 2m 32s of the round.

Trinidad now has a 41-1 win-loss record.
