New Zealand suffered their second loss, 4-1, to Germany in the men's Thomas Cup international badminton championship in Jakarta yesterday.
The loss, coming after their defeat to Korea last week, means there is little chance of advancing further than their knockout match against either China or Indonesia tonight.
The highlight for New Zealand was in the third singles match, where John Gordon totally dominated Marc Zwiebler to win 15-9 15-0 and keep the tie alive. However, both doubles matches were lost.
