How taking a holiday can be a gateway to your new longevity journey.

For many travellers, a hotel is more than a place to stay; it’s the foundation on which the success of the trip is built.

A comfortable bed that promotes a good night’s rest; a wholesome breakfast that sets you up for the day; helpful amenities that encourage self-care; and a welcoming atmosphere that facilitates connection.

No matter the reason for travel, a good trip is about returning more enriched than when you left and continuing it into your daily life afterwards. It’s this ethos that underpins Novotel’s new initiative, Longevity Everyday – a vision to support guests’ quality of life.

With more people investing in their wellbeing than ever before, the future of hospitality is health.

Research from 2025 found the global wellness economy had grown to a record $6.8 trillion*, with a forecasted value of $9.8 trillion by 2029. A significant part of that market was the rapidly increasing wellness tourism sector, sitting at $894 billion.

Novotel’s independent research, meanwhile, found that one in three travellers are actively taking steps to improve their physical and mental wellbeing.

“Longevity is becoming a significant lifestyle shift that is reshaping travel,” explains Kerry Healy, chief commercial officer for Accor’s premium, midscale and economy division in the Middle East, Africa, Turkey and Asia Pacific.

“Travellers increasingly want experiences that help them feel better and allow them to have a micro reset. Hotels are becoming active partners in wellbeing, supporting rest, recovery and healthier routines throughout the travel journey.

“The hotels that thrive in the future won’t simply accommodate guests, they’ll help guests leave better than they arrived.”

While many wellness programmes are perceived as expensive or aspirational, Longevity Everyday focuses on simple, daily habits that are achievable for all. These initiatives are embedded into hotel experiences and operations, ensuring they are accessible to every guest.

These small changes are made easier through the Novotel 37 Collective – a global community of experts, athletes and creators – who provide guests with helpful advice and guidance through easy-to-access digital content.

“Longevity is not just about adding years to life, but adding life to years, and that is defined by the impact of daily habits we bring to our hours, that have a cumulative impact over time,” Healy explains.

“That’s why our approach focuses on practical actions guests can realistically maintain: better sleep, more balanced nutrition, everyday movement and meaningful social connection.”

The programme itself is built on four pillars: Eat, Sleep, Move and Meet.

Eat

By the end of the year, at least a quarter of menu options across Novotel restaurants will be “plant-forward”, Healy explains – not just because they are vegetarian, but because they are special in their own right.

Plant-based ingredients will be at the heart of the menu to ensure there are balanced, nutritious and most importantly, delicious, dishes on offer.

A collection of recipes – developed in partnership with UK-based chef Alfie Steiner (@alfiecooks), celebrated for his creative and accessible plant-based cooking – range from pasta e fagioli and coconut dahl to ramen, mushroom shawarma and mezze, in addition to other plant-forward dishes created by Novotel chefs.

Sleep

We all know sleep is vital for physical health, immunity, brain function and emotional wellbeing.

By 2030, all Novotel hotels will feature eco-conceived premium Novotel beds and enhanced bedding standards to improve guests’ sleep quality and recovery, complemented by expert sleep guidance from the Novotel 37 Collective’s sleep expert, Olivia Arezzolo.

Move

To encourage simple, daily movement, Novotel has partnered with Olympic surfer Kauli Vaast and former Paris Saint-Germain footballer Javier Pastore to create a series of informative, motivational videos.

These clips contain practical tips and advice, such as how to stay active while travelling, or strategies for managing energy levels.

Around 70% of Novotel hotels have fitness amenities, such as gyms and pools, to enable guests to stay active while travelling. Novotel Auckland Airport, for example, boasts a modern, fully equipped fitness centre, while Novotel New Plymouth Taranaki features a sauna, gym and complimentary bikes.

At Novotel Melbourne Airport, guests have access to Higher State Health & Wellness Centre, as well as an infrared sauna and 25m heated pool.

Meet

As part of Longevity Everyday, Novotel is also designing spaces and experiences that naturally bring people together.

“We wanted to recognise that social wellbeing matters just as much. Research increasingly shows that strong social connections contribute significantly to long-term health and happiness,” Healy explains.

“For business travellers, that means meeting experiences designed around energy, movement and collaboration. For leisure guests, it means creating opportunities for meaningful connection and shared experiences.

“When people connect well, they perform better, feel better and ultimately live better.”

As a hotel brand known for its family-friendly facilities, Novotel also offers a range of perks and tailored programmes designed to make travelling with children as stress-free as possible.

Novotel’s family offer, for example, allows up to two children aged 15 and under to stay and eat breakfast for free when sharing a room with their parents, plus a 50% discount on a second room for children.

While Novotel is inviting people to embrace living longer, fuller and happier lives all year round, September marks its inaugural Longevity Week – a celebration of the daily rituals that help us achieve our wellbeing goals.

The week features free expert-led talks, masterclasses and live sessions streaming on Novotel’s Instagram and YouTube channels each day, as well as in-stay experiences, family activities and QR-enabled wellbeing content guests can take home.

Ultimately, the aim of Longevity Everyday is to have guests leaving better than when they arrived, says Healy.

“Our ambition is to help guests leave with habits they can continue. If they leave feeling more rested, more energised, more connected and inspired to continue even one positive habit at home, then we’ve achieved exactly what Longevity Everyday set out to do.”

The support doesn’t stop when you check out, either: guests can continue accessing content through Novotel’s digital platforms, helping turn small actions into lasting change.

“Because that’s what Longevity Everyday is about: helping people live better, every day.”

Longevity Everyday is rolling out across Novotel’s global portfolio of over 600 hotels. Book your Novotel stay here: novotel.accor.com/a/en/novotel-experience/Longevity
