House price sales record

The average house sale price in February was $186,000 - a record high and a 7.2% increase on February last year. The number of homes sold in February (8733) was the second highest recorded. The sales boom was spread across all regions and price ranges, but it was particularly strong at the top end of the market, which saw an all-time high of 829 homes selling for more than $400,000.
