Apartment lifestyle: Parnell Terraces offers quality

AN "affordable home" in Parnell is now possible thanks to a new development by the award-winning Broadway Developments Ltd.

Parnell Terraces offers an entry-level opportunity to buy a two or three-bedroom terrace home, without giving up on quality, character and style, says Lindsay Kennedy of Broadway Developments.

The 81 terraced-housing development, designed by Francis Clarke Architects, is being built at Quay Park on the northern side of The Strand and near the old Auckland Railway Station, recently converted to accommodation.

Over the next six months it will be transformed into a new residential precinct. The Strand is within walking distance of the city, Parnell Rd cafes, Auckland University, and waterfront recreation.

"With so many attractive amenities close to hand it makes for an ideal residential location," says Mr Kennedy.

Much consideration has been given to the site layout and the style and character of each home to ensure maximum enjoyment for residents, he adds.

Different house styles have been achieved, with roofing and exterior colour variations, and a variety of pergolas and balconies.

"It was important that the homes did not look like a row of identical boxes - and we have achieved this," says Mr Kennedy.

"The homes are contemporary and yet have a timeless and enduring quality."

Three different entrances off The Strand, Ronayne Place and the newly-formed Ngaoho Place, will allow occupiers to drive straight to their homes without bothering their neighbours.

All the homes are over three levels and each has a private courtyard and deck.

A range of interior colour schemes are available to suite individual tastes.

Prices range from $194,000 to $210,000.

The two and three-bedroomed homes are the same size, about 108 sq m, and the two bedrooms have bigger internal garaging.

The land is leasehold.

The directors of Broadway Developments have been involved in the design and construction of more than $200 million of property in the past 20 years.

Their projects vary, Mr Kennedy says, from high-quality townhouses and residential homes through to office/warehouse and retail developments.

Broadway Developments has won more Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) awards for its buildings than any other developer in New Zealand, he adds.

Construction of the project is under way.
