A weak front moves northwards over southern and central New Zealand today, followed by a ridge of high pressure, which dominates from Wednesday. High pressure dominates the weather over most of New Zealand from Thursday to Saturday. However, a weak cold front and strong westerlies do affect the south of the South Island on Thursday and Friday morning.
