A ridge of high pressure dominates much of New Zealand today and tomorrow, while westerlies strengthen in the far south of the South Island this afternoon. High pressure continues to dominate the country, while a front lingers near the bottom of the South Island from Friday to Saturday. On Sunday, a front moves onto the South Island, bringing with it a strong and humid northerly flow.
