A young man suffered head injuries during a fight in the Coromandel on Saturday night.
The man, aged in his 20s, was left with a laceration after being hit over the head during the ruckus in Kennedy Bay, the Auckland Westpac Rescue Helicopter Trust said.
Alcohol was involved, a spokeswomanfor the trust said, and police took the man to a helicopter landing zone where the rescue chopper picked him up.
He was flown to Auckland City Hospital in a moderate condition in the early hours of yesterday morning.
