Woman thrown from rolled ute on Auckland beach

Emergency services converged on Kariotahi beach southwest of Auckland after a woman was thrown from a ute on the beach.

A woman was thrown from the back of a 4WD ute when it rolled on an Auckland beach.

The woman, in her 20s, was riding in the back of the ute when it rolled on Kariotahi beach shortly before 5pm Thursday.

Auckland Westpac Rescue Helicopter was sent to the scene, just north of the Kariotahi Surf Club.

Emergency services converged on Kariotahi beach southwest of Auckland after a woman was thrown from a ute on the beach.

A spokeswoman said the woman lost consciousness in the accident.

"She had been knocked out for a brief period of time.

"The patient was then flown to Middlemore Hospital in a moderate condition, suffering shoulder and neck pain."
