Woman dies after fall from Auckland carpark building

A woman has died after falling seven stories from a carpark building in Central Auckland this morning.

Police say ambulance staff found the woman critically injured on the footpath just before 9am after receiving a call.

She was taken to hospital immediately but died shortly afterwards.

Police say the woman fell from the top floor of the Wilson car park Building on Kitchener St, near the Auckland Art Gallery.

Road access has been blocked while police interview witnesses and photograph the scene but it is expected to reopen shortly.

The death is not being treated as suspicious and police are continuing enquiries to locate and notify next-of-kin.
