Woman dies after being hit by vehicle on SH2 Horokiwi in Wellington

Emergency services were alerted just before 6.30pm.

A woman who got out of her vehicle after a minor crash on a Wellington motorway has been killed after being hit by another vehicle.

Police say the woman was struck on State Highway 2 at Horokiwi, near Lower Hutt, about 6.25pm last night.

“Indications are that the woman had exited her vehicle after a minor crash, and was then struck by another vehicle,” a police spokesperson said.

“Immediate medical assistance was provided, however sadly, she was unable to be revived.

“Police wish to thank the public for their patience while the Serious Crash Unit and other specialists attended the incident.”
