A 24-year-old woman charged with murder after the fatal stabbing of another woman in the Auckland suburb of Remuera was remanded in custody when she appeared in court today.
The names of the accused and her alleged victim are suppressed.
The woman made a brief appearance at the Auckland District Court and was remanded until a defended hearing next Monday.
The accused was originally charged with common assault but that charge was withdrawn and replaced by one of murder.
A 53-year-old woman was stabbed at a house in Remuera on March 26.
Ambulance officers and police found the critically hurt woman in the house. Efforts to resuscitate her failed.
