Woman accused of assault after man's death

A 45 year-old woman will appear in court today, facing charges relating to the death of a man.

The woman has been charged with assault after Tom Joseph Rihia was taken to hospital with serious injuries. He later died.

The woman will appear in the District Court in Auckland.

Police and ambulance staff were called to a May Road house in the Auckland suburb of Mt Roskill shortly before 4pm, yesterday.

A post mortem examination of Mr Rihia will take place today.

Yesterday, police said two people who were at the house at the time of the incident are helping them with their investigation.
