Wire netting stolen from SPCA aviary

A new aviary at Waikato SPCA in Hamilton wouldn't win any prizes for keeping birds secure - somebody stole the wire netting before it could be completed.

The $800 worth of netting was needed to finish the aviary, which is replacing an old one.

"The guy who was going to put the wire on it came to us and said 'Where's the netting?'," said manager Chris Wood. "We think someone must have climbed the fence at night and stolen it."
