Police investigate death of three‑month‑old baby girl in Masterton

Police are awaiting a formal report from a pathologist after a Masterton baby died.

Police are investigating the death of a 3-month-old baby girl in Masterton.

Masterton police Detective Senior Sergeant Philip Skoglund said police were notified about 2pm on Thursday October 2.

“Officers are now working to determine what exactly has occurred,” Skoglund said.

He said the family have been assisting police with their investigation.

Police are awaiting a formal report from the pathologist, Skoglund said, after the post-mortem examination.
