A Wellington home has been gutted by fire overnight in a suspicious blaze.
A Fire Service spokeswoman said the alarm was raised just after 1.40am at an inner city property in Newtown.
The home was engulfed by fire when firefighters arrived. Six fire crews fought the blaze.
No one
was in the house, said the spokeswoman.
Fire safety officers searched the damaged home to determine the cause of the destructive blaze.
