Burger King fans in Wairarapa have to endure only three more sleeps before the King throws open his flame-grilled castle to the hungry in the region.
Aaron Tricker, Burger King lower North Island operations consultant, said the Masterton restaurant would open at 11am on Tuesday as the fourth in New Zealand
to be outfitted with the latest livery of the Burger King court.
"We're moving away from the 1950s decor and the Masterton restaurant is only the fourth to be built with the modern look and feel and all the latest state-of-the art equipment," Mr Tricker said.
BK workers' families would have an opportunity tomorrow and on Monday to taste the upgraded BK menu and test the new restaurant staff.
The restaurant is on the corner of Lincoln Rd and Chapel St.
Rachael Allison, Burger King general manager marketing, earlier told the Times-Age that up to 40 workers would be employed at the Masterton restaurant.
The first BK restaurant opened in Miami, Florida, in 1954. The chain last year posted revenue of $2.5billion from more than 12,000 stores worldwide that employed almost 40,000 people.
