Vehicle rolls at Muriwai, motorist flown to hospital

A motorist has been flown to hospital in a serious condition after a vehicle rolled at Muriwai on Auckland's west coast this morning.

Fire Service northern communications manager Scott Osmond said a person needed to be cut out of a vehicle by firefighters after it rolled on Motutara Rd.

The person was flown to Auckland City Hospital by rescue helicopter.

A St John Ambulance spokesman said the driver suffered serious injuries in the crash.
