Two women have been arrested after the armed offenders squad blocked off part of Maitland St in Dunedin this afternoon.
A reporter on the scene said detectives entered the address about 4.30pm and two women were handcuffed and taken away in a squad car.
The cordons, which were also setup at the corner of Carroll and Melville streets and Maitland and Stafford streets, were lifted shortly after the women were taken away.
A police spokesperson said the armed officers are executing search warrants in relation to an offence that happened earlier in the week.
