A person has been taken to hospital after “an incident involving a dog” in Ōpōtiki in the Eastern Bay of Plenty.
Emergency services were called to Victoria St just before 6pm.
A police spokesperson said the injuries were not believed to be life-threatening and inquiries were being made.
They saidthe injured person was taken to hospital by family members.
