Two seriously injured after car hits bank in Waihi Beach

Three people are in Tauranga Hospital - two with serious injuries - after a car crashed into a bank near a Bay of Plenty holiday hot spot.

An ambulance spokeswoman said a car ploughed into a bank on Waihi Beach Rd, which links Waihi and the seaside beach town, around 9.45pm.

Two people were taken to Tauranga Hospital with serious injuries and a third person suffered minor injuries.
