Two more arrests following Lower Hutt death

Police investigating the death of a Lower Hutt father of three following an assault at the weekend have made two further arrests.

Filipo Sipaia, 24, died in Wellington Hospital on Sunday afternoon, following an assault on Saturday night.

A 17-year-old man appeared in Lower Hutt District Court on Monday charged with assault.

A 22-year-old man was charged with manslaughter and a 19-year-old man with assault this morning, said Detective Senior Sergeant Paul Borrell of Lower Hutt police.

The pair would appear in court today, he said.

Mr Sipaia was involved in an altercation with a group of people in the suburb of Pomare on Saturday night. His life support was turned off the following day.
