Two injured in downtown Auckland, four suspects taken into custody on bus

Four people have been taken into custody following an alleged assault in downtown Auckland.

Two people have been injured in downtown Auckland this evening.

A police spokesperson said officers received a call around 8.15pm of a reported assault on Quay St.

“Two victims sustained minor to moderate injuries.

“Police quickly found the four suspects who had boarded a nearby bus and were taken into custody.”

The spokesperson said charges would be considered.

Hato Hone St John told the Herald they took two people to Auckland City Hospital with moderate injuries.

The incident resulted in the cancellation of several ferry services.
