Two in hospital after Dunedin assault

Two people are in hospital following an assault in Dunedin last night.

A man and woman were taken to hospital following the assault, believed to involve the use of a knife, in suburban Fairfield about 11.40pm, Sergeant Murray Smith said.

Neither was thought to be in a serious condition.

No one else was involved in the attack and the two were known to each other, he said.

Police were waiting to speak to the couple.
