Truck crash blocks all southbound lanes on SH1 in Waikato

Waikato drivers face delays today after a truck and trailer crash blocked all southbound lanes of State Highway 1.

The crash happened north of Tokoroa shortly before 6am, a police spokeswoman said.

SH1 TOKOROA - CRASH - 6:15AM

Reports of a crash on SH1 north of Tokoroa blocking southbound lanes. Expect delays in the area and follow instructions of emergency services. ^LC

The trailer is on its side and is blocking all southbound lanes and partially blocking a northbound lane.

The driver is uninjured.

A stop/go traffic control system is in place and the NZ Transport Agency warned people to expect delays and take extra care passing.

The commercial vehicle safety team will attend.
