Tribal Huk leader Jamie Pink reappears in court

The leader of the Tribal Huk gang Jamie Pink has reappeared in court this morning on possession of firearms and offensive weapons charges.

Pink entered no plea through his high-profile defence lawyer Roger Laybourn and was remanded on bail to reappear on December 7.

Pink, whose full name is Allan James Pink, was stopped by police in Hamilton last Saturday and his car searched.

He was arrested and charged with possession of an axe and studded baseball bat.

It follows an arrest late last month for unlawful possession of firearms after police confiscated Pink's bullet-riddled SUV.

The 45-year-old is at the centre of an apparent war on methamphetamine in Ngaruawahia.

He claims he was shot at and "lost an eyeball" in a backlash to his ultimatum to P dealers to leave the tiny Waikato town.

In the dock today Pink continued to sport an eyepatch over his right eye.

Through Laybourn he consented to media requests to have his photograph taken.

Outside court he was gracious and polite in declining media requests to speak.

He was supported by gang members as he left.

The gang is also known for making sandwiches for pupils at 52 Waikato schools.
