Operational staff were monitoring the forecast closely and weather services forecast freezing levels to drop during the week.
Treble Cone staff hoped temperatures would fall even further allowing more snow to be made on the main runs in the Home Basin, putting the mountain in a position to open.
"All our staff are ready to go as soon as the snow does come and we are hoping that the colder temperatures are not far away. Unfortunately, the mountain has been experiencing extremely warm conditions for this time of year.
"Our Base Building sits at 1260m altitude, which is one of the lowest in the Southern Lakes, making it difficult in these weather conditions to create snow all the way down to our base.
"We will open as soon as we physically can for all of our customers, the ski community and staff."
