A tramper feared missing in the Orongorongo Valley near Wellington has emerged safe and unharmed.

The man was reported missing about 10.20 this morning when he failed to return home.

Search and rescue were notified he could be missing in the valley near the Wainuiomata coast.

But the man walked out of the valley slightly later than expected earlier today, unscathed.
