Wairarapa outgunned both Manawatu and Wanganui in the inter-provincial senior representative tennis tournament played in Wanganui last weekend.
Needing to win both matches to complete the 2008-09 season with an unbeaten record Wairarapa achieved their objective with ease, a final scoreline of 13-3 favouring them in both fixtures.
Wairarapa was particularly well
served at the top of their men's section with Marcus Daniell, Jono Hurley and Baden Stevenson all having unbeaten records while Leanne Sweeney and Ashleigh Gane were standouts amongst the women. Their Wanganui success completed an outstanding season for Wairarapa who had earlier won the annual quinrangular tournament for the first time, that tourney also including matches against Wellington, Hutt Valley, Kapiti.
