An 18-year-old youth facing three charges of manslaughter arising from a triple road fatality in Auckland last week was today granted bail on strict conditions.
David Time, whose brother Faafetai Time was among those killed, was also remanded to reappear in Auckland District Court on January 21.
The bail conditions imposed by
Judge Jeremy Doogue included a 24-hour curfew at an address in south Auckland.
Time would have to present himself at the door of the house or come to the telephone if required.
He would be allowed out of the house to report daily to either the Mangere or Otahuhu police station.
Time, who appeared in court with his left arm bandaged and in a sling, could also leave to get medical treatment if police were informed beforehand.
He was banned from driving a motor vehicle during the remand period.
Time is accused of dangerously driving a car that crashed into a ute in Mt Roskill early last Thursday.
Seconds earlier, police had stopped a pursuit of the car he was driving. The two other people killed were in the ute.
