Levin crash: One in serious condition after vehicle and person collision

A person has been taken to hospital in a serious condition after a vehicle accident on State Highway 1 this evening.

Hato Hone St John were called to SH1 North of Levin at 6.20pm.

“One person was transported to Palmerston North Hospital in a serious condition,” a spokesman said.

Police told the Herald the incident was near Waitarere Beach Road, and appeared to be “a collision involving a vehicle and a person”.

Police said the person taken to hospital had “moderate injuries”.

Traffic is currently being diverted via Koputaroa Road.
