Table leg attacker jailed

An ACC beneficiary who swung an ornamental table leg at his former flatmate with such force it fractured his skull was sentenced to 15 months' jail yesterday.

The Hamilton District Court heard Brian Mills' victim was in hospital for a week after the January 2003 attack, took 6 1/2 weeks off work to recover and now suffers migraines. In March, a jury rejected Mills' claim that his victim concealed a knife up his sleeve.
