Stepfather pleads not guilty after girl falls from caravan

The stepfather of a four year old girl who fractured her skull after falling out of a moving caravan near Gisborne last week has pleaded not guilty to one charge of careless driving causing injury.

The 29-year-old man appeared in Gisborne District Court today.

A defended hearing was set down for November 19.

The man was further remanded in custody on unrelated matters.

A family member told the Gisborne Herald the girl was out of hospital and making a full recovery.
