The Sri Lankan teenager who said she faced abuse and possible death if she was deported home has lost her bid to stay in New Zealand.
The Associate Immigration Minister has decided not to give her a reprieve after reviewing her case.
The 16-year-old fled here two years ago with her grandmother after alleging constant rape and abuse at the hands of male relatives.
The Immigration Service says it will continue to monitor the girl's well-being and return her once she is fit to travel.
The Service says it has been talking with the Sri Lankan Government and other organisations to make sure the girl will be safe and cared for on her return.
It insists she will not be going home to die.
