Friends of prominent social justice activist Father Terry Dibble filled St Patrick's Cathedral in Auckland yesterday for his funeral.
Monsignor Brian Arahill, of Remuera, said the 78-year-old was a priest who took the gospel values to look after the poor and underprivileged very literally.
Mourners included old friend Cardinal Tom Williams, Auckland Bishop Patrick Dunn and the Emeritus Bishop of Rarotonga, Robin Leamy.
